We help to reduce risk in the uncertainty of innovation. With design research we grow understanding of your customers and their needs

We help to build the innovative character of your organisation with our communities of practice and an online community platform

Why WAAI? Pronounced "why," our name echoes the Dutch verb "waaien" (to blow, as the wind), chosen when domain options like why.com were unavailable. Beyond its name, WAAI embodies our core principle: the pursuit of root causes. Inspired by Sakichi Toyoda's Five Whys technique, it guides our approach to solving problems—emphasizing the importance of understanding a problem's root cause before proposing solutions. This method aligns with Edward de Bono's emphasis on prioritizing the crucial factor over the dominant idea in design thinking.

Explore WAAI's Community of Practice

At WAAI, we do more than coach innovation managers and lead projects. We host specialised Communities of Practice, such as "Innovated by Design" and "Strategic Innovation." Starting in October, join us in Ghent, Berlin, Cologne, or Madrid to connect with peers and learn from experts in fields like business model innovation and design research.
